Thank you to #NetGalley for this book to read!!! What a surprise it was, a fun read with a bit of everything in it! The main character, Catherine Saunders is working on her PhD in archeology. Her advisor is a real stick in the mud. All she has left for completion is her dissertation. She must translate the final section of graphics on a Mayan artifact vase to finish it. But things go horribly awry when she goes on a trip with her college, Stanford, as an advisor.  The vase is stolen from the lab of her research associate. Without it, she is doomed. So, no holds are barred; she'll do whatever it takes to retrieve that vase. Along for the ride is her best buddy, Nick. He is a fellow graduate student in her field of study and becomes a love interest as he has had a secret crush on her. The author did a really good job of making this story entertaining. It has a bit of everything; there's literally something for everybody. I loved the information touched on in the backdrop o...

Trade Places

I want to change places. I want to do it now, as clearly my age shows. I want to look like I did when I was younger. I want to have a spring in my step.  I loved it when folks stopped talking when I walked in the room and valued me.  Transport me to another body, one with less years! I’d enjoy being catered to and getting special things simply because I am loved.    I want to be able to have my hair and nails done regularly.   I want loved on again!                                                              Yes, I want to be my dog!

Take Me Far Far Away!

I’ve had it! I am taking off.  I am not wasting time packing because it will delay me.  I overpack anyways so why not just go as I am now, what I have on in this moment?  The daily grind is unnerving. My news stream is either biased news or indifference articles of peoples’ needs unmet. Going away makes it easy to stash my phone and get back to good stuff. I need the freedom of a trip with no set plan, no agenda but immerse myself in newness. I’m traveling alone, running away! Yup, I open my new book.

Take Me Back

I want to have a spring in my step.   I loved it when folks stopped talking when I walked in the room and valued me.   Transport me to another body, one with less years!   Shout out to #NetGalley and #PoisonedPenPress for the opportunity to review this book! This story takes off on the very first page of the novel. Immediately we are introduced to six young woman that are friends and acquaintances living in San Francisco. The setting of them each dolled up and sitting at a high class restaurant felt almost like a moment from the show Sex and The City.  They share text chains and meet up  at upscale restaurants for a catch-up meals and drinks. This seems to be the norm with these ladies, most who met back in college days.  The feeling of innocence of the group quickly leaves though when one of the woman Caitlin is in the bathroom distressed.  As another lady Mallory walks in, she is handed off  a tube of lipstick and the story takes off from there!  The main character Mallory begins assessing all the clues and it seems to do nothing more than create more questions and possibilities, a hallmark of a good mystery...
