Empower Yourself Women!

 


There is nothing worse than an arrogant man.  You know the type, they think they are priceless to everyone graced to have them in their life.  No woman can exist without their ‘manliness’ or whatever. They think they do no wrong and when they do apologize, it is with a hard edge, a.k.a. “Sorry, now can we just move on and forget it!?”  (said with that irritated tone letting you know they truly are not sorry)

There are many ways to deal with this.  Fighting and getting them to see the folly of their way is pointless because refer to above, they think they can do no wrong.  Give the silent treatment, uh, that is kinda what they want you to do.  Power moves are meant to shut you up and shut you down. So, the answer, empower yourself, be less likely to show them you are dependent.  You are worthy, valued and as powerful as you want to be.

As women, it is even more important in this culture we exhibit strength. That strength doesn’t need to come with muscle power, athletic prowess or equal paychecks. It can come from strength of character, being mindful of your gut and make decisions off of that and by the grace of God.  You got this girlfriend!  You are complete just as you are if you commit to it!

  I hardly ever post bad PR on establishments because everyone has a bad day. But come on, some levels and experiences are so low, you simply must share. Paula Deen's Family Kitchen Restaurant  I had never tried and saw relatively good reviews. I reserved a large party for my husband’s birthday over a week ago.  Cutting to the chase, these folks will never get my business again . If you are visiting Nashville and go to the Grande Ole Opry or Opry Mills Mall, don't believe the hype.  It is family style eating so it seemed like a real good pick for a group dinner and some of their PR on their website makes it sound inviting.  You would think, but you would be WRONG . When I called to confirm it the day before the party, the hostess was not friendly. Customer Service: 1 out of 10.  She lays it on me that they will not seat anyone till everyone is there.   I gaze into your eyes. Your depth is from a lifetime of experiences.   You are truly a jigsaw puzzle that fits imperfectly making you perfectly unique. You forget God makes no mistakes. You see scars but miss the beauty marks others see. If only you see yourself through others eyes!   Right in this moment, I am tuned into you, a woman full of mountain climbs that shaped her.   It feels like more than one person could possibly contain.   And yet, there you are, sometimes unaware of your true reflection.   I shut off the light and turn away from the mirror.

Pink Ribbons in Heaven with Tammy Ratliff's Name on Them

  She smiles everywhere, almost all the time. Her name was Tammy. I met her at a Luncheon years ago. We quickly discovered we had been diagnosed with cancer the same year, within one month of each other!   In  2007, same exact pathology, same staging. Camper Buddies Tammy welcoming others Christmas Parties Tammy Ratliff worked for a staffing agency at the time and I worked in print sales. We did business together as I worked on brochures for her employer; she was a great liaison to the account! We then Camp Bluebird both joined an ABC ( After Breast Cancer support group sponsored by the Y). Once we connected at those meetings, she talked me into attending Camp Bluebird sponsored by St. Thomas. This is a bi-annual camp for camp survivors and is fun, support building from nurses and other volunteers strictly funded via donations.
