Listen, Speak and Don't Shout

 


We can agree to disagree. That is possible.

We can speak up even if our opinion is not the norm of those around us. That is called sharing views.  Ours and theirs are not the only ones that count.

If you can’t speak about a topic without getting ugly, don’t bring it up and walk away when someone else does.  Keep your friends and like-minded individuals closer.  

The dirty world that has become politics is invading our lives, our relationships and our communication styles.

Don’t fall for it. Put up a line of what is acceptable and what is not. And keep your humanity front and center! That is what matters most.

The Long Good-Bye for Nancy

Me, Nancy and Rody   I made a beautiful friend last year at a Cancer Camp I went to. When she walked into the Cabin she was assigned to, the same one as me, she looked quite tentative.   We spoke and I assured her she was not on her own that weekend.   And, what followed was a blast of a weekend, so much fun, laughter and sharing.     Nancy returned six months later for the Fall Camp Bluebird which gave us more time to chill and expand our memories, myself and all those others who came to know Nancy. A friendship was formed that enriched my life and hopefully hers. Nancy was many things, a wife, a mom, a grandma and a TWIN! Nancy was a beautiful artist; her paintings are treasures.   She also created handmade dolls and her rock painting was supreme! The Blessing of the Cross

I’m Catholic but wasn’t raised in the church.   Welp, actually I started out in the faith and was baptized Catholic. When my parents divorced, that was the end of two relationships, my dad with my mom and my dad with the Catholic Church.     Divorces were so shunned in those days no matter the circumstances surrounding them. One concept I picked up from the early days of that faith was the love of God and the power of prayer. My Grandma Gliatti was devout in faith and tried her best to instill it in her grandkids.   It hit the mark with me. After exploring many faiths, I found myself certain Catholicism should be my chosen religion.   No, I do not agree with everything but, the practice of how they experience ‘service’ feels like home to me.
